Parish Volunteers
Parish volunteers make it possible for us to worship and reflect when we come together to receive God’s grace within the liturgical ministry. Every role is an important responsibility of the baptized to participate in the responses, singing, and listening during the celebration of the liturgy. Some are also called to participate in special liturgical ministries throughout the celebration.
We invite those that may be interested in participating as a liturgical minister - there are many ways to serve.
LECTOR
The lector proclaims the scripture and leads General Intercessions at Sunday mass. This inpidual must have a love for scripture and a passion for delivering it in a way that parishioners hear and understand the readings.
USHERS and GREETERS
Ushers or Ministers of Hospitality serve the important task of welcoming parishioners and visitors to Mass, distribute any materials/programs needed for Mass, assist with taking collections, usher at Communion, and distribute Parish bulletins after the Eucharist.
ALTAR SERVERS
Girls and boys, grades 4th-12th, who have received first communion, assist the presider during Mass or liturgical celebrations by lighting the altar candles, preparing the altar, and carrying the cross in and out of the church with the priest. One or two Masses are required per month after initial formation by the parish. Adult servers are also welcome.

MINISTER OF HOLY COMMUNION & MINISTER OF HOLY COMMUNION TO THE SICK
Volunteers to this important ministry that have a love and reverence for the Eucharist are called to assist with distributing Communion at Eucharist during all Masses, in the home, or hospital. Parishioners who have received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation and are regular communicants are welcome to serve. Those who are called to serve will attend an initial formation consisting of a two-hour session which is held several times a year, as well as periodic follow-up formation.
SACRISTAN
A Sacristan prepares liturgical vessels, books, bread, and wine.
ADULT ACOLYTES
Acolytes are women and men who assist the presider during mass or liturgical celebrations.
