Contemporary Music Ensemble (CME)
Organized by Krys Kozinski-Sansing with the help of Mary Jane Meintzer in the Winter of 2005, the parish’s contemporary music group was originally called, ‘Teen CME’ (Contemporary Music Ensemble). Parish youth, ages 13 to 18, were the heart of this ensemble for many years.
After some reorganization, in 2019, this group became the parish ‘Contemporary Worship Ensemble’. It presently consists of six adults that lead our Sunday worship once a month at Saints Peter & Paul Church.

With the foresight of Father Oscar Ekwere, the two parish Hispanic Music Ministry groups joined forces in 2021, creating one ensemble.
Under the direction of Lidia Girón and Eriberto De León, members of the group rehearse weekly and sing Saturday evenings at the Spanish Mass, as well as other special occasions. The parish Hispanic Music Ministry Ensemble also joins the Parish Adult Choir during Holy Week to play and sing for the bilingual Triduum liturgy.
If interested in singing with the Hispanic Music Ministry Ensemble, please contact Fr. Oscar at oekwere@ssppeaston.org.

Bilingual Services
The Parish Adult Choir and Hispanic Music Ministry Group join voices during Holy Week and for special celebrations as they arise. We truly enjoy singing together and appreciate each other for the musical gifts each one of us has to bring to liturgy. What a blessing it is to be able to sing God's praises together!
Parish Cantors
Adults and youth ages 13 or older are welcome and invited to be part of the cantor ministry. The word ‘Cantor’ derives from the word ‘cantare’ meaning ‘to sing’. The Hebrew word, however, is ‘hazzan’ which requires the person to have great faith.
Having the call to be a cantor is having been called to be a minister of song, a very rewarding ministry. A cantor’s role is a very important one because the cantor leads the congregation not just in singing, but in sung prayer.
Cantor Meetings:
Parish cantors and musicians attend scheduled meetings throughout the year. The purpose of these meetings is for you, as a cantor, to learn and know the music thoroughly so that you are well prepared to lead the congregation in singing at Mass.
Cantor Preparation:
Every new cantor will have the opportunity to ‘shadow’ a seasoned cantor. This has proven to be very beneficial. If you are new to cantoring, shadowing for several weeks will help you become comfortable in front of the congregation before you actually cantor on your own.
The Parish Music Director is available to help each cantor learn and rehearse all music at a mutually convenient time, prior to the day of Mass. As a cantor, you will be learning music and practicing on your own time so that you are confident when the time comes to lead the congregation at Mass.
Cantor Schedule:
Each month, every cantor is given a schedule which indicates at which Masses they will lead the singing. The schedule is created after all cantors give the Music Director the dates of their availability.
I hope this has sparked your interest in joining Music Ministry and becoming a parish cantor. Please contact me for more information.
I look forward to meeting with you!
